Preserving Your Heritage: Family History Archive Workshop

  • Community Education Center 3500 Lancaster Avenue Philadelphia, PA, 19104 United States (map)

Do you want to tell your family’s story, but don’t know how to get started? Do you have fragile old photos, letters, or memorabilia but don’t know how to preserve them? This family archiving workshop provides an introduction on preserving your family history and a step-by-step guide to organizing, describing, and protecting the treasures that tell your family’s stories.

Bring a selection of items (no more than 8 items/material that fits in a single bag) that represent the materials that you have, items that need extra care or are your favorites; and by the end of this workshop, you should know what to do with them and how to share your stories with your relatives, now and in the distant future. We are excited to answer your questions and to help you preserve your story!

Please register here!

This workshop is organized in partnership with the Kislak Center for Special Collections and the University of Pennsylvania Archives (@PennArchives/Twitter, @pennarchives/Facebook)
